Recent research
- MA research in the School of Communications, Dublin City University, explored how social and cultural factors influence domestic use/consumption of ICTs in the West of Ireland. It also examined how rural households domesticate ICTs into everyday life.
- From 1998 1999 project manager and researcher on the Older Generation and the European Information Society. Access to the Information Society (AOP- IS) project at the European Institute for the Media (EIM), Düsseldorf, Germany. This project had the financial support of the European Commissions Information Society Project Office (ISPO) and was presented in the ISPO Showcase 2000. http://europa.eu.int/ISPO/showcase/projects/aop-is/i_public.html
- Project co-ordinator of the European MediaAge network as part of the Changing Media in an Ageing Society project at the EIM in 1998.

- Participation in COST269 offers the opportunity to meet and discuss user aspects of ICTs with experts from different backgrounds in several European countries. It also provides a platform to exchange ideas and find out about research on ICTs at a European level.
