Dr Bartolomeo SAPIO : Researcher (Fondazione Ugo Bordoni, Via Baldassarre Castiglione 59, 00142 Roma, Italy)
Recent research With a degree in Electronic Engineering, Bartolomeo Sapio has since 1990 worked with Fondazione Ugo Bordoni in Roma, as a researcher in the Group "Scenarios and Methods for Strategic Planning" of the FUB Division Telecommunications evolution". He has carried out methodological research in the field of scenario analysis, developing the original methods WISE (Weighted Impact Structured Evaluation), SEARCH (Scenario Evaluation and Analysis through Repeated Cross impact Handling) and GIMMICKS (Graphical Interaction Models to Manipulate Integrated Complex enviroments and Knead Scenarios). In collaboration with Telecom Italia and Telecom Italia Mobile, he applied the WISE and SEARCH methodologies to multimedia, broadband networks, the Internet, mobile services and the convergence between fixed and mobile networks He follows many degree theses for the Faculties of Statistics and Electronic Engineering of the University of Roma "La Sapienza" Bartolomeo Sapio also projected and developed a SIMULAB (Scenario-engineering Interactive Multimedia LABoratory) in Fondazione Ugo Bordoni .
Network & Affiliation He is part of a worldwide network of researchers, including scholars affiliated to the International Institute of Forecasters (IIF), the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) the Project Management Institute (PMI). In Europe, he was in an international consortium guided by IDATE to structure the RACE project "IBS-Intelligence for Broadband Scenarios". He was also responsible of the contract FRQ/3-7846/93/F/RF "Guidelines for an ESA strategy in the field of mobile satellite services" with ESA [European Space Agency] and cooperated with the University of the West of England to build scenarios for distance education.
