Recent research Dr. Isabella Maria Palombini is an electronical engineer who works at "Fondazione Ugo Bordoni", a non-profit organisation, with headquarters in Rome, which carries out research, in all the fields of the telecommunication sector, under the overall responsability of the Italian Ministry of Communications. She is in the Scenario and Methods for Strategic Planning Group, in the Telecommunications Strategies Division, where she has been studying, from more than ten years, the diffusion and the evolution of telecommunication services both through theoretical analysis and methodological approaches. Main objects of her studies have been: mobile communications evolution; fixed-mobile convergence; Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS); customers requirements; electronic-commerce and the Internet world. Current research, in the framework of one of the projects which FUB is carrying out for the Italian Ministry of Communications, regards an analysis of most appealing services for the launch of UMTS. To this end, a consultative network with all main telecom operators and industries is going to be set up as well as, in the recent past, most of work has been carried out in collaboration with Telecom Italia and Telecom Italia Mobile, the two main licensed operators in Italy, for fixed and mobile communications.

Recent Paper Dr. Palombini is author, or co-author, of many articles about described topics. Most of them have been presented to international conferences and have been published.
