Recent research
  • With a doctorate on the development of home computing, Leslie Haddon has for the last decade worked chiefly on the social shaping and consumption of ICTs.
  • EC projects include the High Level Group of Experts report, telematics projects and issues of social exclusion (ACTS-FAIR) and the role of users, especially the disabled and elderly, within ICT development (TIDE).
  • He has worked for companies such as BT, TeleDanmark, Telewest, Telecom Italia and NCR - co-ordinating a recent 5 country study of the Internet in the home.

  • He is part of a European network of researchers.
  • In the past this included EMTEL (European Media, Technology and Everyday Life Network) (EMTEL@ ) and COST248 (Cost248@ ).
  • Now it includes the new EMTEL programme (NEMTEL@ ) and COST269.
