PAPER SUBMISSION

All papers must be prepared in electronic form and be written in English.

Send your full paper in electronic form to costconference@fub.it

Attach your paper in Microsoft Word format.
The title of the document should be in the form "P###.doc" where ### is the number that has been assigned to your abstract (e.g. "P063.doc").

Deadline for submission: 15th July 2003. Authors need to pay the registration fee before this deadline in order to have their papers printed in the proceedings.

All withdrawals should be sent to the Conference Chair.


PAPER FORMAT

- The paper should be prepared in A4 format (21.1cm by 29.75cm) or (8.25 in by 11.7 in) with top, bottom and side margins of 2.54 cm (1 inch) each.
- Your paper should not exceed 15 pages.
- Can you please use Times New Roman 12-point type, single-line spacing
- For the title can you use bold type and centre at the top of the page
- Can you centre the (list of) author(s), providing name, affiliation, city, country and contact details (telephone, fax and e-mail) for each (one per line)
- Can you add a double space between the title and the list of authors
- Please include a 200 words abstract before the main text of the paper
- Please do not indent paragraphs
- Graphics and fonts must print and view correctly
- Please do not paginate your paper (i.e. no page nembers please)

Tables and figures

- All images should be embedded in your manuscript. The type of graphics you include will affect the quality and size of your paper. In general, vector graphics such as those produced by most presentation and drawing packages can be used without any problems, and are encouraged. Please do not use colour, as proceedings will be produced in black and white print only. The use of bitmapped images such as those produced when a photograph is scanned requires significant storage space and must be used with care. In general, bitmapped images should be limited to no more than 256 (8 bit) gray scales, 150 dots per inch, and should be kept as small as possible.
- Figures should be pasted or printed in place. The caption should be placed under the figure. All reference to the figure should use 'Fig.' followed by the figure number. 'Fig.' Should also be used in the caption.
- Tables should be pasted or printed in place. The caption is to be placed above the table.
- Photographs (black & white glossy) shopuld be pasted in place. The caption should be placed under the photograph.

Helpful Hints

- Try to maintain uniformity throughout copy
- Simplify all figures and tables
- Try to make your text as legible as possible

As regards the content of the paper you should try to:

- Indicate the nature of the work
- Emphasise the objectives and results
- Define the goals of the study and/or state the hypothesis being tested
- State what the study (currently or potentially) accomplishes
- State any new or innovative aspects of the study
